Amy Schumer has signed on for her feature film follow-up to the smash hit Trainwreck. The breakout comedy star will headline Fox’s action comedy Mother/Daughter, written by Ghostbusters and The Heat scribe Katie Dippold.
Dippold based the script on her relationship with her own mother, though obviously took some creative liberty. Reports say Schumer will play the daughter in the film, who along with her mother, gets kidnapped while on vacation.
50/50 and Warm Bodies director Jonathan Levine will helm the project, which Dippold will also executive produce. Paul Feig and Jessie Henderson will produce for Feigco Entertainment alongside Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping. Schumer and Kimberly Caramele will also serve as exec-producers, and both worked on the script after Dippold.
Mother/Daughter is slated for release on May 12th, 2017.
Schumer is also working on a buddy comedy with Jennifer Lawrence.
